Go Japan! 2025
What a day it was at Brands Hatch for Go Japan 2025! If you love Japanese car culture, this event is for you, and this year it turned into a memorable one for me. I went into the day simply hoping to talk to new people and photograph lots of cool cars. The event was filled with incredible show cars. I barely knew what to shoot first because there was so much. I spent hours walking around hunting for creative and unique angles, but the shot of the day came when I spotted a very nice Subaru sitting perfectly in the light. Instead of taking a standard front-on portrait, I decided to get creative with my framing and try something a bit different to stand out from the crowd. I walked over to a neighbouring car, squatted down low, and lined up my lens right through its rear spoiler. The wing of the car in front blurred out into the ultimate aggressive frame, locking the front end of the blue Hawk-eye perfectly into the centre of the shot. I decided to enter this image into the Go Japan 2025 Photographers Pit Wall of Fame (photo competition), and seeing that I won was an absolute buzz! Huge thank you to the team at Go Japan and Brands Hatch for putting on a great event, the judging panel at Piston Click, and all you dedicated JDM enthusiasts who brought their spectacular builds to show off!
